Old Harbin Hotel invites family and friends!
The old Harbin Hotel was built in 1923 by W.O. Harbin, and was once the talk of Nauvoo. When it opened its doors, it featured 76 electric lights, quite impressive for its time.
Owners Gene and Earlene McDaniel originally bought the old building in 1975 and ran a grocery and hardware store on the ground floor, in 1988 the store was closed and they were able to finish the upstairs transforming it into a bed-and-breakfast.
By 1990 the downstairs was renovated and added to the Alabama Historical Register, the two story building still boasts its original pine walls and room numbers. The Decor includes period antiques, photos and newspaper clippings from the 1920's and 30's enhancing the feeling of stepping back in time.
